It is truly the best way to limit consumption is to drive less, but that isn't always possible for many businesses. Small practices like limiting excess weight in a vehicle or keeping windows rolled up can make an impact over time, but often it takes more "big picture" thinking to make dramatic gains in fuel consumption.
- Do not use the clutch too much.

- Drive in gear corresponding to the speed.

- Avoid unnecessary braking.
- Revving the engine just before turning off the ignition costs extra fuel and may cause engine damage.
- Take advantage of rolling resistance rather than heavy braking to help slow you down. This deceleration technique is one of the best for fuel saving.
- Avoid using the air conditioner at lower speeds.
- Changing spark plugs regularly can save a lot.
- Fill the fuel tank.
- As soon as you enter your car, note the odometer reading (kilometer done) before even starting it.
- This reading is “start treading”
- Keep drive the car as you usually do.
- Once your fuel gauge is saying you have emptied the tank up to an extent, may be half or three- fourth visit a nearby filling station. If it’s same station from where you last filled your tank then all the more better.
- Note down the quantity of fuel it took fill the tank completely.
