Healthy hair is a must for a good hair day. Have you ever looked at someone and wondered how they got their hair so shiny, bouncy, and silky smooth? - Avoid towel drying your hair, which is very damaging. Instead, wrap your hair up in a soft towel for a few minutes after showering.
- Avoid heat styling daily, try to switch to a natural style every other day if possible.
- Eat a balanced, healthy diet to grow stronger, healthier hair. Dark green veggies, nuts, chicken, eggs, whole grains, low fat dairy, and carrots are excellent foods for hair health.
- Avoid washing hair with hot water. Instead, wash with lukewarm water and use cool water to rinse.
- Apply a mixture of egg and real mayonnaise, cover with a shower cap and leave on for 30 minutes, rinse with cool water, shampoo, then rinse again with cool water.
- Get hair trimmed regularly, about every 8 weeks, to get rid of dead ends.
- Avoid shampoos containing harsh chemicals in the ingredients which can strip your hair and scalp of it's natural oils. Instead, use a mild shampoo, preferably a strengthening and moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, to help avoid breakage.
- Diet carefully (for so many reasons). Crash dieting causes dull, thinning hair.
- Wear a cap when swimming. Chlorine and excessive sunlight is damaging to hair.
- A healthy scalp is key to healthy hair. Massaging your scalp daily can help stimulate the blood flow for better circulation, as well as brushing your hair daily. Be sure to use a gentle brush with natural bristles, avoid harsh brushes that scratch the scalp, to maintain a healthy scalp and hair follicles.
