Eyebrows are one of the first things that you'll notice about a person. These seemingly useless patches of hair frame the eyes and at most times provide good non-verbal communication. For example, a raised eyebrow can convey the message of doubt or confusion while eyebrows that curve down in the center can make you look just plain angry. Ever been browless? Yeah, not a good look for anyone.

For eyebrows that have been over-plucked, most partiers that have had their eyebrows shaved off while in a drunken slumber say that their brows grew back in about two to three months. However, there are over-the-counter products as well as tricks to help the hair grow faster. Recommended products include Rogaine, Talika Lipocils, and Enormous Lash. To stimulate hair follicles, some recommend using a soft brush (toothbrush) and castor/olive oil. Let the brow grow "wild" for three months. Cover unwanted stragglers with concealer in the meantime so you don't appear to be unkempt.

Trimming
Many women skip the trim which can actually save you a lot of plucking time. Not trimming can also result in removing too much hair when in actuality you need just remove bulk. Use a brow brush to brush hair up. Trim any rogue hairs that fall outside of your main shape.

A Tip Before You Tweeze
Use concealer while you complete the following steps on shaping. This way you don't have to just imagine what your finished brows will look like, you can actually look yourself in the mirror and decide if you like what you see.

Where to start?
Visualize a straight line from the outer sides of the bulb of your nose up. This is where your brow should start. For eyes that are set a little wider apart, this will help to make them appear to be closer together. Remember, more space between the brows will result in the illusion of a big forehead.

The Arch
Take a ruler or straight object like your eyeliner and line up the tip of your nose with the pupil of your eye. Where the ruler lands on your eyebrow is where the peak of your arch should exist. For a medium arch, line up the nose and the middle of your pupil. For a larger arch, line up the nose and far end of your pupil (closest to ear).

Ending
All good things come to an end. Line up the outer edge of your nostril with the outer corner of your eye. Where the ruler or straight object falls on your eyebrow is where you should end your eyebrow. If your eyebrow falls a little short, don't worry! Use a brow pencil to fill in the empty space until the hair grows in. While darker eyebrows can give the appearance of youth, be weary of over doing the brows and steer clear of the I-drew-my-eyebrows-on-with-a-Sharpie look. Tip: Don't like the shiny look of the brow pencil? Take some black or brown matte eye shadow and use an angled brush to gently blot on the shiniest of areas.
