You probably already know that if you want good results then you need to use a good quality product. Something else you may want to keep in mind is the shelf life of your product as well. Don't try and get a good application with an old product. You will just end up frustrating yourself and it isn't good for your lashes.

The next Mascara application hint to keep in mind is that you need to take care of your lashes. They can be damaged easily, and one of the ways to prevent this is to be sure that you use the proper Mascara removal techniques. Use a good quality remover and be gentle.

The application
To load the lash applicator that comes in your mascara bottle twist it gently around in a circle type motion. The tendency is to pump the applicator up and down, and when you do this you are pushing air into the tube. This will make the product dry out faster and you will end up getting a thick clumpy product that will not apply properly.
As you remove the wand from the tube let it brush against the side of the tube so the excess product is removed.

Start with your bottom lashes. That way you are not going to get those tiny spots of color under the eyes when you are applying the top lash application.

Gently lay the wand against the base of your lashes starting in the center and slightly wiggle the brush of the wand in a horizontal direction. This ensures that each individual lash is getting total coverage and helps to prevent the lashes from clumping together. Once you have completed both eyes then you should be able to go back and start over again. If you are using a good quality brand of mascara then you may find that one coat is all you really need.

You repeat the same steps for the upper lashes. It may seem like it takes a long time to apply this particular eye makeup but the more comfortable you get at doing it the faster it becomes.

How to apply mascara takes more patience than know how, and often what will slow you down is the fact that you are working around a sensitive area of your face. It is important that you use not only a good product when it comes to the actual liquid color that you are going to be applying, but that it also has a good wand or applicator to get the best results.
