How to Apply Nail Wraps

Nail wraps have grown up. There are now more designs, colours and themes than there are days in the year. And with improved materials they are getting thinner and more durable than ever before.

They are no longer a gimmick, but now a staple of every fashionistas' dressing table. And if you are one of these girls then you need to know how to apply them properly.

Unless you're an expert and know exactly which wrap will fit which nail, if you don't take your time the biggest mistake you will make is choosing the wrong size wraps for your nails.

So let's start at the beginning and do the step by step guide.

First you need to have your equipment ready.

You will need:

• Nail buffer 
• Nail cleanser or nail polish remover 
• Cotton wool balls 
• Scissors 
• Hairdryer 
• Nail file 
• Nail wraps

1. Prepare your nails by buffing lightly to remove any shine from the surface and create a base for the glue to adhere to.

2. Make sure your nails are clean and free of grease by cleaning your nails with a nail cleanser or nail polish remover.

3. Choose the correct size nail wrap to fit your nail. This is where you need to take your time and choose carefully. If they are too wide they will overlap your skin and peel off.

4. Some nail wraps are individuals others are double ended and will need to be cut in half.

5. Hold the end of the wrap you will be trimming on the end of your finger and heat the wrap with a hairdryer for a few seconds to activate the adhesive. (be careful not to over heat)

6. Apply the wrap to the nail by starting at the cuticle with the curved end of the nail wrap and gently smoothing out towards the tip of your nail.

7. Heat the surface of the wrap again to secure further and press down with your finger tip or hoof stick.

8. Fold the entire excess wrap tightly over the edge of your nail tip and file the nail until the surplus wrap comes away leaving your nail with a neat, smooth edge.

If you follow these steps carefully you should have salon perfect nails. It really is easy to do and if you make a note of which size wraps you used for each nail then next time will be even quicker.
